You’ve crafted a great subject line – awesome! But is that text enough for your subscriber list to really dive deep into your email? When it comes to email deliverability, preview text counts.
Think of preview text as the supporting actor to subject lines. It’s not the shining star, but preview IS a critical part of getting recipients to open emails.
This line of text is displayed after the subject line on mobile devices (and sometimes at the top of the email body itself). If the subject line isn’t compelling enough, the preview text is another opportunity to get subscribers to open. As with subject lines, keep the most important words in the beginning as not all devices have the same cut-off limitations.
You can also use those cut-off limitations to your advantage by creating a compelling sentence that ends juuuust as it’s getting good, enticing readers to click through to read the rest.
