Contortionists on the conference table and random slam poetry performances punctuated an evening to remember as Webolutions celebrated 20 years with 200 of its closest friends.
“It’s been an amazing journey and we are so glad to share it with our community this evening,” said Webolutions founder and CEO John Vachalek, who donned circus ring leader attire for a very Cirque-du-Soleil-feeling party.

The celebration was held in Webolutions’ Denver Tech Center office. Guests were welcomed outside the building by a street drummer, performing percussion using plastic buckets and cement. “We found him on YouTube,” declared Webolutions Director of Strategic Community and Public Policy Engagement John Brackney.
Inside the lobby were hula dancers providing flower leis to all guests. Many attendees dropped off coats at this point–the evening more than doubled the quantity of coats Webolutions had collected for Coats for Colorado–before venturing in to a seductively-lit atmosphere with ceiling streamers, where post-impressionist art illuminated screens, music played and people connected while noshing on salmon mousse, tomato basil bisque with grilled cheese sandwiches, pasta and meatball bites chicken and waffles and ice cream created with liquid nitrogen.
Guests started the weekend sharing stories while relaxing in massage chairs and sipping drinks including the evening’s featured “poptail,” an adult fruit juice concoction with Pop Rocks on the rim.
Party favors bridged whimsy, print and digital, as caricatures created for guests were made available in digital form, suitable for use as social media profile icons.
Webolutions team members immediately floated rumors of another appropriately-themed party next year, when the company achieves legal drinking age. The company started in 1994 as a web design and SEO services company. It has grown into a full-service Denver marketing agency.
“In our increasingly digital world,” said Vachalek, “making time to truly bring communities together to connect on a human level gains importance. When we eschew our perceived limitations, such as with an, ‘office party,’ we can create fun, memorable, different experiences for people. We’re so happy that so many of our friends came to celebrate with us and we look forward to another 20 years!”
